LF Non-EotN WS Build
As the title says, I don't have EotN yet (soon) and I want to use a Wounding Strike build on my dervish for vanquishing..
This is what I had in mind:
[pre][build=WS Derv; OgCjkyqG7SAYDYMXkbjbygibAAA][/pre]
that leaves one optional spot for utility depending on the area.
Any suggestions?
I'm open to any changes, drastic or not, as long as it incorporates Wounding Strike and has no EoTN skills!
*edit* since the code isn't working..
Wounding Strike - Chilling Victory - Mystic Sweep - Attacker's Insight - Zealous Renewal - Aura ot Holy Might - Heart of Fury - Utility Slot

Could go D/E and use conjure, but this really depends if you got some points to spare in that area, and the fact that you will lose any armor penetration/zealous/vamp mod since you gotta use an elemental mod.
think I tried using SY! on my derv back then.. kinda worked.. not optimal.. but I guess it helps

On the contrary, SY! is optimal for a dervish, particularly on a WS dervish. There are two reasons why:
1) Scythe sins can take WS, and if they do they'll be able to out-damage, out-tank, and out-DW you. However, scythe sins can't use SY!, so that's your edge against them. Whenever someone asks "why not just be a scythe sin?", you can say "well, he might deal more damage and stuff, but he can't spam SY!".
2) Dervishes are actually better at spamming SY! than a warrior because a warrior is going to have other adrenal skills on his bar, and those are going to compete with his SY! spam. This is not a problem for a dervish, who likely will have few, if any, adrenal skills on his bar. Also, since you're frontline melee and taking damage, your adrenaline will build up faster than if you were a mid or back-liner.
As for the OP, I'd say drop Zealous Renewal. Assuming you can keep HoF up for the entire duration of Zealous Renewal, you're only going to get about 10 net energy. And looking at your build, I really don't see how you need that extra 10 energy. I usually run this:
[For Great Justice!][Aura of Holy Might][Heart of Fury][Mystic Sweep][Wounding Strike][Victorious Sweep][Save Yourselves!][Faithful Intervention]
And I don't have energy problems. I just cast my buffs, go in, hit WS, and start spamming my attack skills (along with SY!).
Attacker's Insight essentially reduces the cost of Chilling Victory from 10 to 5, so, you basically have the same number and cost of attack skills as me. And since CV takes longer to recharge than normal attack skills, you should have even less to worry about energy-wise.
I also think that it's worth looking into Faithful Intervention. Not only does it essentially give you +100 hp, but it has no upkeep or duration. It'll stay around until you need it, and while it sticks around it'll fuel mystic sweep, nearly guaranteeing that you'll always deal at least +10 damage with it.

Actually, reaper, '2)' is only half right. The more decent Warriors in GW these days either play a ScytheWarr or a Dragon Slasher. I hope I don't have to tell you that they can both spam SY! like there's no tomorrow =)
(Scythewarr uses no other adrenaline skills, except maybe Flail. Dragon Slasher has HUGE Adrenaline gains so you'll never be without)

What I would suggest is playing what you really like and what you're good at. I mean, everyone is talking about "optimal" builds and the best builds, and what a dervish can do what assassins or warriors can't and stuff.. If you really like the dervish class, find a build that's fun, exciting, new, one you like, and play it. For some time. Then change. I've been searching for an optimal build, and using SY! spammer for team support, and it works good, but after a while, it got boring. Now I switched to AoG with a vampiric scythe and an IAS, and it's fun.. stealing up to 63 life per hit, and making things explode through aegis or guardian. My point is, don't stick to one build, or the one which everyone suggests.. Try out various combinations and just because the build may be lacking, or may be sup-par to other builds, don't dump it if you enjoy playing it. Anyway, have fun.

Aura of Holy Might changes your damage type to holy last time I checked so conjure won't work.
